Hey there. I'm actually writing this one about items related to work. My boss is looking into putting TVs into the conference room. I think he was going to go with the Samsung DLPs. One thing that he does want, is for them to work as computer monitors. However, we came across another item that he was thinking of getting that comes in a 66" size, but I found out that you can buy the same thing as an overlay for certain plasma displays.

If you head to http://www.smarttech.com/products/overlay/specs.asp you will find a full listing of the models that are compatiable. From what I can tell the ones list are a) out dated, and b) business models. Given that I plan on contacting this company to see if the models sold at stores (Best Buy, CC, etc.) will work as well. Anybody care to speculate on this?

However, Dell does have the Pioneer PDP-503CMX and Hitachi CMP5000WXU listed on their site - so those are always options.

I would greatly appreciate any information anybody has on where I can find these models (mainly decifer what all the model numbers are). I'd also appreciate it if anybody could chip in and give their experience with any of these if they have used them or had an opportunityt o watch them for any extended amount of time.

I do realize that the best thing for us to do is go to the stores and fiddle with them ourselves. I'm sure looking for some additional information!!

UPDATE: Okay, it looks like the boss only wants to go with Pioneer. Given that we are looking at:

PDP-610MX
PDP-501X
PDP-502MX
PDP-505HD
PDP-503CMX
PDP-5000WXU

This helps because I can look for some reviews of these models, but I'd still like some input. As I stated before Dell has the PDP-503CMX, but does anybody know if this is the same model that is in the stores anywhere? Such as the PDP-5031HD found at Best Buy?
