recommend me some speakers
Hi all,
I'm in the process of looking for some nice home theater speakers. I can spend up to and around $1,000. I need a center, two front speakers, two surround speakers and a rear surround speaker. My receiver is a Sony STR-DA2ES. Help me out please. Point me in the right direction.
Thanks for the help!

That is a good budget and you are going to have a lot of options.
The Fry's ad in my area has a deal on a Polk Audio system. 5 surrounds (RM6700) and an 8" powered subwoofer (PSW303) for $699. Anyone know how good a system this is at that price?

Replace the sub with an extra rear surround and you have a better system that most out there.
Don't pay retail markup.

NHT superones- you can get them from onecall for $138 each so six of them will run you $828 which gives you 6 sonically matched speakers and since they are shielded one would be the center channel.
you could also do this with the Klipsch RB-15's. they are $300 a pair without any discounts so for six you would be at $900 for a set of six.
You could do the same using the Energy C-1's which retail for around $300 a pair.
Frankly you can find a bunch of speakers in this price range since you do not want or need a sub.

I'm a KEF fan, but they are harder to find. Tho I believe One Call carries them (or they did).
