Good Pick for Widescreen Projection TV?

Looking for a quality widescreen TV (HDTV isn't a factor, since my cable company doesn't provide an HD signal) for DVD viewing. Anyone know about the quality of Mitsubishi? Looking for something in the $1500 to $2000 range. I've heard they are petty good...looking for a second opinion or perhaps someone out there will have one and let me know if it lived up to expecations:

That thread does nothing for me...it's about a different product.

Sorry. You asked for a good pick and it appeared you mentioned Mitsubishi as one of the possibilities, not the only possibility.

You really think you're going to get a Mitsubishi (or Pioneer or Toshiba or Sony or ...) owner to say their set didn't live up to expectations?

As a current Sony owner of a TV, I can say the TV I currently own didn't live up to expectations.

I thought the link was because you were claiming this topic was discussed elsewhere. As a recommendation, the link serves its purpose...thanks.
