player with lots of video effects?

Are there any DVD players out there that have extra effects like more zoom adjustments, negative, colorize, mirror imaging, rotating, inverting, etc. etc.?

There's never much detail given in the listings.

I guess they usually leave that stuff to using computer software for effects while playing the DVD on a PC.

Curious if any players have built-in.

I can't imagine why any company would go to the expense of adding this kind of stuff to a player.

Like Mr. salty said other than a zoom mode why do you what or need the other things for display? I could see if you wanted these things for autoring your own home movies maybe but who would want to watch their movies inverted and rotated?

Well I sort of agree that there wouldn't seem to be much general appeal to these features. Most of the time if you want to do such things you would buy an extenal effects box. Problem is that with the macrovision, going thru a box doesn't work. I had an idea for using projected images from dvd's as backgrounds for a sort of play/event.

I've seen plenty of other gear put on the market with features that might seem pointless, and there have been VCR's that could do some of the effects I mentioned.
