quick monster component hookup Question

I just bought a PRogressive scan DVD player, and I bought monster component cables. Now I find that it doesnt have audio...Can I use the red/white audio plug ins from the cables that came with the player, in conjunction with the monster cables for video? (I dont have a sound system of any kind, and after droppping 35 bucks on the monsters, I dont want to spend any more unless this idea wont work)

Yes, of course. And they should be just fine, esp. with tv speakers. You can get better audio cables when you upgrade to a sound system. Or get midrange ones now, such as Acoustic Research or RS mid-grade audio cables--they should be fine, and *far* from the limiting feature of your audio system!
