Problems with a Classic DVD player...
anyone have this happen? Put the disc in and it may play, but more than likely it iwll make some noise like the disc is spinning, then missing, spinning, etc. and eventually the machine says "no disc" despite the fact that there is one in there?
Is it teets up, or does it just need cleaning (and if so, how)?

Sounds like the laser doesn't track anymore. If so, consider the player DOA. You could try cleaning the laser, there are cleaning discs avail at most stores that sell that type of thing. It may be worth the $10 to get one.
