Tracking issue

Hi, I bought my DVD player (Sony, DVP-S745D) in Sep 2000. Recently it has problem tracking on some of my audio CDs. Certain songs it played will have intermittent pauses. I would like to remove the cover & service/clean the lens & also the guide shaft/leadscrew (if there is).
I would like to know what type of lubricant is best to apply on the guide shaft & the leadscrew.
Is industrial use IPA liquid suitable for cleaning the lens?
Thanks!

Radio Shack has a lens cleaner $19.95, which I use it also acts like a video and sound indicator to get the best picture and sound.

As for lubricants, I wouldn't touch that subject with a 10 foot pole, best to ask company that made it or a *authorized* repair shop what to use, if anything.

I have had up to 5 DVD players and changers in DVD and 3 changers in CD, I have never come across a problem like yours. My CD players are all Pioneer bran PDF-904 100 and 2..F1007 300 + capacity.
