Reviews of the Malata 3600 setup?
I'm graduating in a few months, and I thought I'd reward myself by upgrading to either a region-free DVD player or a surround-sound setup. The Malata 3600 would, of course, solve both problems, but I don't want to buy something that's either going to not be a huge upgrade over the current DVD-and-TV setup or break soon and force me to get new equipment. Basically I just don't want to go into the purchase uneducated.
I've prowled these forums, but all of the problems are very specific (and terrifying). Are there any in-depth reviews on the setupfloating aruond? And fuggit, while I'm here, if anyone has any testimonials, I'm more than willing to listen.
Thanks

I think the fact no one can review this unit should be your answer.
Way back, when I first upgraded to 5.1, I purchased a Bose surround system and the speakers were this size. I hated them. No power, no clarity, no surround, no nothing. If Bose didn't live up to it's name, I'm not so sure these would be better.
Buy a region-free player now and wait on the surround system until you can afford something you'll be happy with.
Just my $.02
