Do you have a SACD DVD player?

I'm moving my current DVD player into my room and getting a new one for my home theater. I'm looking to get a SACD DVD player but couldn't find any reviews or recommendations on them on the net. Anyone own one or can recommend one. I am looking in the price range of about $500-800. This player will be about 60% music listening and 40% DVD watching.

I have a sony Dvp-s9000es that I got brand-new from a pawn shop for $600.But I don't own or plan to own any SACDs.
The machine does have kick-arse sounds though when I play my regular CDs.

I got the Philips 963SA for around $400. It does 192 upsampling and SACD playback, and I've been very happy with it. It also has what seems to be very good progressive DVD playback. Add to that the RC6 hack to make it region free with PAL->NTSC conversion, and it suits a lot of my needs. I can't test this, but it's supposed to do PAL progressive output as well with a remote hack if that interests you.

I have some very minor issues with it like slow response time on the remote and a bit of difficulty using the multiangle controls, but those things are only minor annoyances. In terms of audio and video playback, everything has been outstanding.

There is a significant amount of discussion on this player over at AVSForum if you're interested.

I have a SACD player in my Dream System in my bedroom. I am not impressed by it. No big deal. I prefer DVD Audio. Infact HDCD that I play through my CAL CL-15 sound just as good as the SACD. Sony is the king of dud formats!!!! Beta, Mini Disc and now SACD!

This is really not ture.

Beta had a better picture quality then VHS.
MiniDisc is still going strong in Japan. Reason is MD are about 1/2 the price of CD's over there.
SACD sounds great if you have a hi-end setup.

I love SACD. If you have a SACD player try Pink Floyd-Dark Side of The Moon that came out today. You will be able to tell the difference.

The Pink Floyd SACD plays on regular CD players also. You might have a defective disc.
