Opinions on LCD TVs please
I was looking for a screen that could be used by the kids during a long car trip. I want to be able to hook a gamecube and a DC-powered DVD player with s-video and component outputs to it.
Looking around, I saw units around 7" (which is pretty much the lowest reasonable size) but were fairly expensive, and an Action 10.4" at Best Buy that also included a TV tuner for $380. http://216.239.57.100/search?q=cache...hl=en&ie=UTF-8
The Action 10.4" looked ok, it had composite, s-video, and VGA inputs. But it still was kind of small and would be fairly useless as a computer monitor given its size and resolution.
So I did some looking around and came up with the Cornea Systems CT1503 15". http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?sku=C196-1010
The specs look pretty good and it has all the inputs I'd want other than DVI (it seems you only get DVI in 17" models). It also has a 3-year warranty while the others I've been looking at have only a 1-year. Amazon has about the best price on this - an amazingly low $358. A good coupon would bring this down to a very nice price.
I ran across a couple of other possibilities, but they are more expensive or larger profile. Here are a few:
Zenith L15V26 - http://www.jandr.com/JRProductPage.p...e,Product_Name
SAMSUNG SyncMaster 150MP - http://www.jandr.com/JRProductPage.p...165&showcase=t
Sampo LME-15S1 - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...995923-6327321
KDS RAD-5TV - nobody seems to have in stock
Sharp models are not worth my looking at because they don't have VGA inputs. Unless someone knows of a model that does.
So, does anybody own any of these or any others? Anybody have any advice on this type of monitor?

Howdy X,
I guess it doesn't really fit the mold for what you are looking for (I'm unsure of what inputs it has, I couldn't find those details anywhere...) http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...games&n=745910
Here's a different one reviewed at IGN

I dunno if that helps or if you already knew about these products, but I hear nothing but good things about them.

Thanks. I'm just afraid that screen is just too small. It might be ok for the gamecube, but I think it's too small for a widescreen movie.
However I better take my 15" LCD out to the car and see how well it'll fit in the back seat.

X - I just got the Samsung 170MP (17" version of the 150MP), and I really love it so far (it was just delivered yesterday). I'm using it in a dual monitor setup hanging it off the Ti4200 card I've got. Since Comcast is now charging me for basic cable, so I had it installed a couple of weeks ago, and hooked it up to the 170MP yesterday. I was a little disappointed in the full screen TV display, but that could be the cable signal itself. I still need to do some configuring, since I'm trying to set up the whole multimedia experience, but I expect to be very happy with the Samsung, when its all said and done.
I got a very good deal at Dell for the Samsung ($547 including shipping, and no rebates to worry about), much cheaper than anyone else on-line). I'm pretty sure that deal is gone now, though.

I have the Samsung 170MP and my sister has had a Cornea 15" (don't know model #) for over a year that she bought from Tiger Direct. She has been very pleased with the monitor and uses it 4-6 hours a day/5 days a week. Either would be a good choice but the Cornea is a better buy.
Good luck & let us know what you decide as well as how it works out!
