Need help with possible laser problem.

I have a Sony 5 disc DVD changer. It is about 3 years old. Recently I have had problems with the player reading CDs. When there is a problem it will say NO DISC after trying to read it. I have put a number of new CDs in and I sometimes get the say problem so it is not related to the disc. Also when it does not read the disc, I can open tray and close it and it sometimes reads it and plays fine. I have not had any problems with it reading DVDs. Does this sound like I might have a problem with the laser? And if so, would you recommend cleaning the laser?

Sounds like it has something to do with a focusing problem. It is possible you've got a dust accumulation which is making things worse.
