PS2 Issues Playing Certain DVDs
Just a quick question for people out there someone may know something about this
I usually use a normal Sony DVD player for my movie watching, but I'm visiting a friend and am using a PS2. I have about 7 discs with me, all but two are working on the PS2. For some reason MIB2 and Donnie Darko simply say "Disc read error" when I try to load them up.
The DD disc is brand new, and never been used so I don't know if it would work on another DVD unit. However the MIB2 disc worked just fine on my normal unit at home.
Has anyone heard oif this happening with these movies, or any movies in particular? Any ideas what might be causing this?
Thanks!
Tim

I had problem with this before I used a Laser Lens Cleaner. Try that. Also try ejecting the disc and reinserting it into the machine a few times. For some reason some disc take a few times to get read.

If your PS2 is more than a year old, you might need to get new DVD drivers for your PS2. I have an older one (bought in April 2001), and it needed new drivers to display some movies properly. You can get new drivers by buying the official Sony DVD remote for the PS2. It comes with a CD that uploads the new drivers to your memory card. Or just borrow a friend's CD if you don't care for the remote.
