Yet another progressive scan question

Do you need a HD set top box to use your progressive scan dvd player? Also, do u hook up a progressive scan dvd player to your HD component jacks or the regular dvd component jacks?? Thanks for any help.

You don't need a set top box, that's only for high defintion signals (720p and 1080i). The hookup depends on your TV - some have seperate component jacks for 480p progressive scan and high definition while others have component inputs that accept all types of signals.
