HiDef/Progressive Scan question.
I have a Sony DVP-NS700P hooked up to a Hitachi 43FDX01B via component cables. Occasionally when I have the progressive scan enabled on the dvd player and am viewing a dvd, the video goes black for a second or two. The audio is fine but, the screen goes black. When i enable just interlaced, everything is fine. I have tried different combinations of settings with the dvd player and want to ask the following:
Is this a conflict between the 3:2 pulldown on the tv and player?
Does progressive scan only work with 16:9 tv's?
Does progressive work with both widescreen and standard material?
Is the problem just with one of my components?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
