Help hooking up VCR through reciever!

Help hooking up VCR through reciever!
I currently am trying to allow my vcr to record off of my tv while hooking it up to the reciever...I have the cable box outputs running into the video in on the creciever, the designated video and audio cables running to the reciever, and the video out from the reciever to the TV...do I have to run cable wire from the VCR to the TV in any direct way in order to record? Thanks

I'm assuming you have a cable going directly from your receiver to the vcr, right? Unplug the cable that's going from the receiver to the tv, and instead plug it so that it's now going from the vcr to the tv (you will still have a cable going from the receiver to the vcr). Try it now.
