Question about DVD players

Is a digital signal on TV shows better than a DVD player quality?

Also, why don't DVD players connect to the TV digitally like digital TV? Probably stupid questions, but just wanted a answer.

and i don't think they will have a digital connection because the majority of tv's in peoples homes are analog and they receive analog signals
