Can a expert on electronics please answer this for me please?

I have a small portable dvd player with a screen & a regular-sized dvd player. My question is which of the 2 is better suited for playing dvds on a large screen tv? What I mean is that since both can be connected to a big t.v., which has less of a probability of breaking, overheating, and any other problems that may arise from using it more by watching on it everyday?

Portable equipment is generally more fragile due to the size and weight constraints. That's why smaller, portable equipment such as notebook computers tend to cost more for essentially the same features.

You would want to use component input on a large screen TV. Does your portable have component out?
