Does Philips make quality DVD players?

How would you guys rate their dvd players?

I'd go with a Panasonic (RP line), Pioneer or Toshiba over Philips.

They're alright. It's the one and only DVD player I ever bought. As far as durability, I used it almost every day, for the past 3 1/2 years, and it still works the same as the day I bought it.

I just use it on a 25in T.V. though. It's probably not the best thing to buy for a home theater setup (if you have one).

If I were you, I wouldn't get one if you're buying an expensive home theater system.

Its going to be for a bedroom. Modest sized tv, no fancy audio setup. I'm mainly just looking for durability.
