Watching consecutive movies = pauses & pixelization
Hello
I have a Samsung DVD P-421 Progressive Scan player hooked up via component inputs to a 46" Mitsubishi Widescreen TV. How normal or abnormal is it for movies to begin pausing and showing pixels during a second movie. I watch the first movie and it is fine. Then a few minutes later, I begin another DVD and in the middle, it begins to pause and/or pixelate.
I am thinking that the unit is overheating because that is the only time it happens --> during movie #2, after one movie has already been played.
Any thoughts/opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Is the unit in an enclosure with a surround receiver? Surround receivers put out a lot of heat and can possibly cause heat problems with the DVD player if it in the same enclosure.

Actually it is. The DVD player and receiver are both in a stand that the TV sits atop. The DVD Player is sitting right above the JVC receiver. Of course, they are separated by a shelf.
The funny thing is, before this Samsung Player, i had a Toshiba interlace player (SD-2109) that did not really exhibit these problems.
