Sub Interconnects??
I got a Sony "Theatre-in-a-Box" a year or two ago...
I have always been using the cheap subwoofer cable they sent with the sub. I'm now ready to upgrade, but don't want to spend much. Looking through buy.com I have noticed 100 different types of AR cables.
Question is...
Can I use a digital audio cable (coax) for it, such as the AR AP-072, or do I need to go non-digital, or what? Would a video cable work? I don't want to spend $40+ on a Monster Cable. Really what I need is a longer cable. The AR I listed is 12' and only $9 shipped.
Anyone know if this will work? Can anyone recommend a 9' or longer cable for less than $15 shipped?
Thanks all.

We had a guy in our local home theater club that made all his own cables. He used shielded RG6 with a braided core (not the solid that you normally get) and attached your typical RCA jacks on the end for his sub. I know he had runs of 20 ft or more. I didn't notice any loss of quality. He is an EE so he must know what he is doing. If you buy the coax and the connectors in bulk, you can get the total price < $5 per cable!

"any RCA cable will work....."
Is this really true that any cable will work for connecting the sub? How about the speakers?
I see ads for Monster Cables run around $79 for a 12' super premium sub cable. Does this really make a $79 difference comparing to....a $12 digital audio cable from RCA?
Of course Monster Cable would be better, that's for sure. But is it worth the difference?
