PAL on regular TV?
Dont know if this is the correct forum, but here goes.
I have and Apex AD-1500 that can play PAL DVD's.
If play a PAL DVD on the Apex, will my TV put out a picture since it is a regular US TV?
Thanks in advance.

I've never had to flip an switch on my multi standard VCR or my APEX DVD player, and I have an NTSC TV. You just pop the tape or disc in normally and play it. The units auto convert the PAL signal to NTSC.
Maybe it is different with other machines.

The Malata players (and one JVC model) are the only machines that convert PAL-to- NTSC correctly. There have been numerous threads about Malata in the International Forum.

The conversion quality is good, not great. When playing anamorphic PAL discs on my 4X3 TV, the picture is squeezed. However, when I attached my APEX to my 16X9 set, the anamorphic discs play fine. It doesn't look as good as an NTSC disc in a better player; but it does the job for the few titles I have in PAL. I got an ANGEL box set of season 2 in PAL, and it looks better than the WB widescreen broadcasts have until this point. For a multi region NTSC/PAL DVD player I picked up for $129, I'm not complaining.
