DVD player recommendations?
Features I need on the player:
- Progressive Scan
- I forget what this is called but the thingie that prevents the pause at layer change (sorry I am new)
- DTS Audio
- Not to pricey (something currently on sale or ways to get it cheaper discounts coupons, etc.)
- Good ratings from other users
Features I would like but are not necessary
- Multi disc
- Cool looking (=
Thank you to everyone who can shed some light on my situation. I am currently watching movies off of my PS2 w/no surround sound. I know, I should just leave now and come back when I am actually doing something worthwhile, but hey everyone has to start somewhere.

Secondly, some players use a cache to reduce but not remove the layer change and these players are rare and often much more expensive. Is that worth it (a larger price tag and less features) for a 1 second pause every two hours?

Didn't know about the price difference for the cache. Hopefully that gets reduced shortly. So I guess I'll pass on the layer skip.
As for DTS, I do not mind either way. I am in the process of upgrading my whole HT, and I decided to start with this. Not sure why, really. Makes me think I should have started elsewhere. Oh well.

If you are upgrading your HT, you are probably going to get a receiver that decodes DTS, so your DVD player won't have to.
I recommend the Panasonic RP-82 and RP-62. Both have tons of features for a very nice price.

And when you are ready to upgrade another component I'm sure us forum users will have plenty of suggestions.
