Energy Take5?
I am helping someone put together a home theater. they currently have 2 NHT super ones so I was thinking of getting three more then a sub. the three NHT's were $555 for the redesigned version plus I figure at least $299 or so for a 8" sub. she really wanted to pay less if possible so I started to think about the Energy Take 5's
http://www.energy-speakers.com/take5...51_system.html
it includes a sub and should be a good system for around $699 and this includes the sub.
Do you think this will be a good system paired with a Denon 3200 receiver?
I also looked at the Take 5.2's
http://www.energy-speakers.com/take5...rs_system.html
however at $599 without the sub I am back to the NHT prices again.
Right now all she has are the two NHT's and a cheap Polk center channel so either should be an improvement.

Bottom-line: Go for it.
I've had the original Take 5's for almost 5 years and still love them. Most of my friends can't believe how big the sound is from such small speakers. My audiophile friends think they sound pretty good but not as good as SuperOnes or other more expensive speakers. I generally agree but still think the Take 5's are a great deal for the price. For most people, the size of the room is a factor. I use them in a pretty big room (12x20) and they do a good job filling the space to my ears, but others might not think so - if you can hear them before buying, obviously that'd be ideal.
But for your friend, it'll be such a huge step up from what she's got to 5.1 that she'll love 'em too and probably won't miss the SuperOnes. And they'll be fine with the Denon receiver. The sub is great too, even though it's "only" 8in. Energy put great quality into this little set.
HTH.

If she doesn't mind buying from a Canadian store she can save a few bucks -
[pasted from another thread:]- this is where I bought my Energy speakers (not the Take 5, though) -http://www.audioshop.on.ca/links1.htm

I take it you think the energy speakers are the way to go also.
The best I was able to come up with on price is $630 and no sales tax for the Take5.1 set and free shipping. I thought it was a decent deal.
