Is this code-free player genuine??
Has anybody seen this player in action or owns it? I am looking for a code-free dvd player with video conversion in that price range and was wondering if it would be ok. If not is there any other code-free players with video conversion in that price range?

I'm 90% sure that my video store sells the region free Daewoo 3000. I think that they price it in the $160-180 range. So I don't see any reason that it can't be genuine. But I recommend researching the online store more.

I see no reason to think this is not genuine. I also see no reason to believe it converts PAL to NTSC correctly since, to the best of my knowledge, the only players that do the conversion correctly are the players with the Mediamatics chip which are the Malatas and some modified JVCs.

My suggestion would be to buy an apex player, 1200 or 1500 from Walmart or the like, and find yourself a firmware upgrade online that will make it codefree, macro free, and will convert pal-ntsc.. all for like 80 bucks.

I have the Daewoo3000N. While it's fine for playing NTSC discs from all-codes, the PAL to NTSC conversion is off which leaves a minorly squished picture for PAL anamorphic discs.
