Need Universal Remote Help.
I have all Sony Products - TV, DVD, Receiver. My son drowned my reciever remote and ruined it. That was frustrating, but at least I could work the volume on the reciever with my DVD remote. Well, last night my DVD remote just died for no reason. Batteries are new, it just won't send a signal to the player.
So I'm thinking that I should just pick up a universal remote that will run the TV (Wega XBR 250), the DVD player (7700), and the reciever (DE-935), and give me ALL the options of the original remotes. Of course a learning remote won't do any good since the originals are broken.
I don't have much money. What's out there (if anything) that will work for these components without my having to lose any options. Low price is a big factor, but any ideas are welcome. I'll sell part of my collection if I have to to pay for a good remote.

You can buy the Sony universal remote controls from Best Buy, Circuit City & Target in the $20-$30 price range. They are pre-programed to operate Sony components!
Hope this helps..

You could get a learning remote and go to a store like Tweeter and learn the commands in the store. I bought a receiver without a remote a few years ago and they let me do it (I don't think a store like Best Buy would allow it but you could try if you had to).
