Active Subwoofer question

Should I leave in on all the time or just turn it on when I am watching movies?

Every active sub I have seen you just leave it on and it will go into standby mode after not receiving a signal for 5-10 minutes. Your manual should explain this at some point. Usually there is a idicator light that is on all the time and it will switch to a different color when in standby mode.

......which keeps the amp warm so that it will operate at its top potential right at the beginning of every movie (or other usage).

Thanks. I think I am going to leave in on from now on.
Now, I have different question. What do I do with frequency and Volume. What setting should I leave in on. It is YST-SW100 made by Yamaha.

WATTS - 70
FREQEUNCY - 18hz-160hz
WOOFER SIZE - Duel 7 inch paper cone subs

That's a trial and error typ deal. I would listen to something bass heavy at the level you usually listen to and start the volume at about 25% and work your way up until you reach a point where the bass is satifing to you. The Frequency is best set at the max and let the receiver do all the work.
