help! whats wrong with my hardware?

Ive had my home theater setup for about a year now, I finally got a new dvd player, Toshiba sd-2800 (nothin special) - used to have the raite avphile 715.

I still have the same problem i had before.

on certain movies, when playing dvds, when it goes from a dark scene all of a sudden to a bright scene, it shows like a quick burst of rainbowish color during the tranistion across the screen.

is this just compression issue witht he dvd disc? or what?

it is really annoying.

thanks,

I wonder if it's your TV. Maybe a marginal power supply that can't handle the bright scenes very well.

What are you watching on? Have you calibrated it with Avia or Video Essentials?
