Tivo Series 2
Anyone have Tivo Series 2?
I currently have a Philips 30 hr and would love to upgrade up to the new Series 2 box that is 60 hours (I don't want to do the add a harddrive thing). It just seems that I record so much that more space is a good idea. Plus I believe they are selling Series 2 units at Best Buy now and that means 6 months same as cash on their card.
Anyway, I was hearing that the picture quality somehow is not as good on Series 2, but will be fixed with a software upgrade (to 3.0 I think). I don't record anything off basic cable anymore. Everything is Dish Network S-Video In.
Anyone have any advice?

by all accounts adding the drive is simple..
I have yet to do it, but supposed to be easy...
My advice to you is to get rid of dishnetwork, and buy a directivo combo unit, 2 tuners, and all the goodies you can shake a stick at

As for the picture quality I never heard anything about Series 2 having any flaws like that.
I would check out www.tivocommunity.com and see what those guys think.

I have the AT&T Broadband version of the Series 2 (40 hours but sells for less from tivo.com).
Quality is fine for me....I record on Medium for the most part. Basic tends to work ok for things without much action, but I find it easier to leave medium as my default.
If I had the money for DirecTV service, I would get a DirecTiVO combo box to get the two tuners........
