Zoom for non-anamorphic DVD if your player doesn't scale, also for OTA non-HD broadcasts in widescreen.
Just(ified) stretches horizontally, more towards the edges. Avoids having mattes on the sides of 4:3 material. I use this for watching TV.
Full stretches 4:3 to fit the screen, used for widescreen DVD such as anamorphic and properly flagged letterboxed titles.
A great TV, but needs to be calibrated to look its best. Can do 90% of the calibration yourself if technically inclined. Mine now looks better than a Pioneer Elite HD RPTV that had been calibrated that I saw in a local high-end showroom.
