"0" coded dvds and toshiba

I recently bought the ultimate 3-d collection from IMax and the code was region "0" I was informed this means will play on all dvd players. I found this is not the case, they do not work on my toshiba 5109 unless you hack the menu as i discovered on a web site. I tried it and was sucessful however as this system comes with i-glasses for a full 3d effect I found I cannot get into the setup screen nor the bonus features naturally the store does not wish to refund the hundred dollars it costs... so can anyone help me in getting better performance out of the system? the page I refer to is http://www.dvdtalk.com/rce.html and although my model is not listed i tried several toshiba hacks and did have somewhat limited success.
I thought 3d would be fun and it is becoming doubtful devistating and desasterous. (mind the spelling) Any thoughts to help? please.
