Sony Projector's Good or Bad

DVD Talk Limited Edition
You can do much better for the money. Personally, I would never buy an 800x600 projector - dvd will look less than stellar unless you use a PC for anamorphic dvds.
Head over here:

and check out the Panasonic AE100 (native 16x9 lcd projector) for < $1500 imported from Japan.
I own an NEC LT150, 1024x768 DLP projector. I would try to get 1024x768 minimum for a 4x3 projector. If you go 16x9, your choices are the AE100 for 1500, unless you want to spend 3000 or more.

i also own the LT150.
if you could see it in action in a calibrated room (very important, imo) your jaw would drop.
never having seen one, i'll defer to the massive consensus that crt's are the pinnacle.
no matter, whatever technology you choose will have plusses and minuses.
go to avsfourm, and read up and ask questions.
i like Sony products in general.
the two exceptions so far have been their dvd players and their projectors.
not familiar with the model you mentioned, but if its at all like the VW10/11HT, you can definately do better for much cheaper- but you may have to go dlp ( which i would recommend anyway).

How much are you looking to spend? The new HP coming out will probably blow everything else in its price range (low/mid $3k) out of the water.

Sony...
Personally I love the Sony VPL-VW11HT... it rings in just over $4k delivered to your door.
It totally knocked my socks off on a crappy screen, and can only imagine how it would look on some of the higher end gray screens.
