I need help :(
I just bought a new TV yesterday and re-wiring my system. I am really bad at wiring and getting my system up the best it should.
This is the system I have
TV - Philips 32PT81
Digital Receiver - VR-407
DVD - Panasonic without builtin decoder
VCR - S-VHS w/S-Video
AT&T Digital Cable box
Center Channel (want to use this and tv speakers for sound ..no surround yet)
I got my DVD working fine by using Component (holy cow!! what a difference using that instead of RCA) straight to the TV.
The rest is where I need help.
I have an Fiber cable going from the DVD to my digital receiver.
Cable Box coax going to VCR. VCR S-Video In and Out going to Digital Receiver Monitor In (should it be Video 1 instead?). VCR Analog Out sound going to Digital Receiver In.
Digital Receiver S-Video Out to TV S-Video In. Digital Receiver Analog Out to TV In.
Is this the correct setup? I can't get Video from my cable to work with this setup.
I know this is probably hard to follow, but any advice I would love. Point in the right direction, another site that can help, etc....anything I would appreciate greatly!!!
Thanks!!

Just so you know, RCA is a type of connection... you meant composite.
One thing I noticed right away, specially since you have digital cable. If it has component hook that directly to the TV (or receiver if it has component switching), other wise if it has s-video or composite hook that directly to the receiver. Hook the VCR in and out to the receiver. If you need to record anything, the receiver will let you do it, but you will need the digital cable box hooked to the receiver to do so. Just make sure it is hooked to one that allows recording.
