Long Distance Remote?
I just purchased a Samsung SyncMaster 150MP LCD Display with integrated TV tuner. The unit is great and makes for a very reasonably priced LCD TV with a 15" screen. (I picked it up for $599 at Best Buy B&M. It's in the computer monitor section, not the TV section.)
My only complaint is the remote, it needs to be within a few feet of the monitor to work. I tried another universal remote and the same thing, so it appears to be on the receiving end. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Something like this would work. It's a remote extender made to transmit IR through walls but would work for what you want. Have one pyramid near the monitor, the other pyramid could be anywhere else in the room.

That's a good suggestion, palebluedot. But it does add a bit of hardware. I was hoping for a longer range universal remote that I could use in place of the existing remote. I don't seem to find any that make such a claim. Do you know if any manufacturers offer such a thing? Thanks!

The IR extender is only about 4 inches high, so it's not a HUGE piece of equipment. If you want, you can connect an IR emitter to the front of your monitor and connect the other end to the jack on the base unit. Just hide the base unit behind the monitor or elsewhere. It will solve your problem!
Here's a pic of the emitter on a VCR:

I use these in every room of my house with great results!
