Which sub should I get?
Newbie here. This is my first surround sound setup. I've decided to get B&W 603 Series 3 fronts, the LCR 600 center channel, and the 601s for my rears. I've got a Denon 3802 receiver. My dilemma now is which sub? I've been tossing around the B&W ASW650, Velodyne CHT-12, Velodyne VLF1012, SVS 25-31PC and the SVS 20-39PC. I'm open to other brands/models too. The room is 15'x17' with a high ceiling on one side and openings into the kitchen and stairway leading upstairs. Basically, it's only got 2.5 walls! Any suggestions? I'm trying to stay in the less than $800 range unless someone can tell me why I should be spending more than that. I'll be using this mostly for movies. Some music but not much. Thanks for your help!

Here are a few good sites for quality subs:
http://www.adireaudio.com/
http://www.stryke.com/
I am the type that likes passive subs which are powered by a seperate amp in my rack so these sites offer drivers and subs for those applications also.

im happy with...
i dunno about the others, but im very happy with my JBL psw-D112, its a 12', 250rms, low and high freq-60-180hz, 28hz of low pass crossover(not sure what that means,) it weighs in at 40 lbs. although it sempt heavier when i was carrying it in. i like the low deep hit of jbl, thats what made me get it! i got mine on sale for $112.

My room is quite a bit larger then yours, but also has two openings and high ceilings, and believe me, most single subs aren't going to cut it in a large room.
If you want quality, go for the SVS 20-39PC. You can find a sub for less, but a bargain doesn't always equate to good performance.
