GE VCR - "SAFE" Message
Hello. I have a POS VCR that I am not quite ready to throw in the trash. I come home today, the VCR says "SAFE" and won't turn on. I unplug it, let it sit there. Plug in back in and it still says SAFE= any suggestions here?
Thanks,
Dan

Just a guess, but a fuse is blown, a mechanism is jammed, or a short has occurred. Any one of these three problems requires you to open the case and check it out. If you're not comfortable with that, trash it and buy a new unit.
It could also be a moisture sensor, although doubtful, from condensation inside the VCR.
Have you called GE to see what they say?
