THX-ex Surround
I am considering putting in twin surround backs in-ceiling speakers for home cinema. My question is, how do these wire up into an amp that has a single output for surround back?
I am considering getting the Denon A1-SE which has surround L/ R-A and Surround L/R-B. I assume this means rears and then backs respectively???
Do I just connect the two wires onto the same amp terminal for back or do I have to mess around with preamping or something...
Anyone know?
Help much appreciated,
-Dan

You would not want to hook both rear speakers to the same speaker terminal you would be changing the load and could damage your amp or speakers. An option would be to take the rear preamp out and split into 2 and run it into a stereo amp. Another option would to just use a single rear center.
THX-ex is (for lack of a better term) a 7.1 setup in the fact that you have:

Thanks,
I thought as much - maybe I'll just put in a single rear centre - just thought it would give a more even sound across the back wall to use two in-ceiling speakers for rear centre...
