Problems with Philips DVDQ50
I recently purchased a Philips DVD Q50 based on the progressive scan shootout results at http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum...-2-8-2001.html
While the picture looked great (a significant improvement over my Toshiba SD5109) the player tended to pause and start periodically while playing a movie, almost like a bad layer change, but these pauses were at random points in the movie.
When I called to get a return authorization at OneCall, they said that they would not send another of the same player because they had gotten so many complaints similar to mine.
I was just wondering if anyone else has this player and has had either a good or bad experience with it.

You might try posting/looking in the DVD Hardware section of of the www.avsforum.com, as there are several Q50 owners who post in there.
There was also a free firmware update, but I don't know if that would fix your problem.
