Need advice on DVD/VCR combo unit....
Hi all:
My father-in-law has a single spot in an already overcrowded wall unit, and he wants to replace his old VCR with one of those DVD/VCR all-in-one combo units. I can't convince him to got with separate components.
Samsung has the v1000, Panasonic has the D4741 and D4761, GoVideo has the DVR500, pretty sure Sharp has one, and there must be a few more out there.
Any advice on this topic would be appreciated (besides don't buy one): great deals you found, quality of the different models, etc.
Out of those listed, I'd lean toward the Panasonics simply because of the name/reputation.
Opinions???
TIA

My parents thought this was a neat idea and had to go through several Govideo combo units to finally get one that worked. The quality was extremely poor and they ended up returning it after a couple of weeks and purchasing a separate DVD player.
