16:9 question
Hi,
I have an Apex DVD player and a Toshiba CW34X92 HDTV ready tv. I noticed that my DVD player has a wide screen video mode (as opposed to letter box and pan-scan). I was wondering which of the setting would result better video quality:
1. set DVD to wide and set the TV to full mode.
2. set DVD to normal and set the TV to theater wide mode.
One has to have more stretching and compressing than the other. The stretching and compressing could happen both on DVD and the TV. right?
Thanks!

I'm basing this on my experience with my Tosh 50H81
You need to set your DVD player for 16:9 (widescreen) mode. For anamorphic DVD's you need to use Full. Use the different TW modes for non anamorphic DVDs.
I would also recommend using a progressive player connected via componant video with this set (If the apex isn't prog scan already). I think that you would see a big image improvement.
Hope this helps.
