cheapest progressive scan tv?
My friend is going to get a 27-36" TV for his room, he is leaning towards the Sony Wega or a Toshiba FST. My question is, are there any TV's in the size range that can display progressive scan? I know the Wega XBR 36" can, but I don't think any others can, he can't afford it anyway. Are there other brands that can? Looking for sub 1000 dollars.
In the likely case there isn't, what TV should he get? At first glance, the Toshiba looks better than the Wega but it was regular TV signal. How are Samsungs? I know the Wega's have a 16:9 enhancement mode which is very attractive, are there other brands that have this feature?

Copper Box has quite a few lower priced Direct View 4:3 and 16:9 TVs that can display 480P as well as 1080i formats
I'd check with them - they always seem to undercut everyone else in price, especially on the set tup boxes you'll need to display the 1080i format

any TV capable of 1080i can display the 480p format, so an HDTV monitor would be ideal
I'm not sure abotu EDTVs though like that Samsug widescreen for around $1200
Does anyone know if this model will display 480p?
