this morning when i went to turn on my tv all i got was a thin line down the center of the screen even after turning it off then back on again.

Well, you're not totally screwed. I had the same problem - line down the middle, but I still had audio. I thought I was in the market for a new television, but took it in anyways. I can't remember the exact problem, but it only cost the $75 minimum fee, and the TV works fine now. So don't give up hope....unless you really want a new TV
