Here is my setup now. Panasonic 36" Tau HDTV with a Sony DVD DVP-S330. I only use s video since the player doesn't have a component connection.

I have been waiting for a "true" progressive player to come down in price, so I can get that and component cable. Are there any good progressive scan players that are under $400 right now? The ones that do "true" progressive (whatever the 4:3 pulldown...). I have seen several progressive explanations, so I just need to know about the players and some prices.

I was kinda waiting for the Xbox also, since I heard it was gonna be progressive scan too.

Thanks for any info.

Thanks, that one does fit the bill. How much of an improvement should I see? Going from the above to prog. scan and component?

I couldn't say how much improvement it would offer. It's still an item on my wishlist

It is the player I intend to buy this fall though.

Sweet deal. Thank you! Just ordered mine. Used the code 2001ha25 to get an additional $25 off (which covered the shipping). My grand total was $314.60. They ship via FedEx 2 Day. Just purchased my HDTV last week so I can't wait to see the picture that this DVD player puts out!

You will see a major improvement. A progressive scan player is a must with a digital monitor

Yes, a true prog. scan player is a great investment as you will see a noticable difference in picture quality.
