I am not sure if this is the right forum, but it seemed like the most correct. There is a deal right now to pick one up for $40 aftr rebates. I wouldn't really use it for a calender, so I was wondering if there are other uses for it? What are some of the better programs I could use?
Also, what do I need to get my mail on it? Thanks.

If you live in a major city (or travel to one a lot) the Killer Palm OS app, is Vindigo (www.vindigo.com) or check out this article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...001Feb27.html. I can't imagine life w/o Vindigo.

Wow, vindigo looks great. I live just outside of San Francisco, but I am there almost everyday, always looking for places to eat and such. Thanks a lot. Also, it is completely free, correct? It seems like it is.

I have a Sony Clie (another Palm OS device) and I can't live without it. The Handspring models are very cool because of all the modules you can use in them. I use my Palm device as a calendar, address book, database for my DVDs, ebook reader, check register, and alarm clock just to name a few things.
Avantgo is a cool free program that downloads different webpages you choose and lets you read them latter. Of course you can also buy wireless modems, but those are pricey.

The only problem is that the website is now showing out of stock, so you might have to go to the actual store with your shopping cart printed.
If you don't mind waiting for rebates, I think it is a pretty good deal.

I've had a Palm for quite a while, and I find it invaluable. I use the calendar, address book, and task list many times a day. The best part is that it hot-synchs with my computer (both home and work), so my calendar can always be in front of me. There's a nice Palm OS program called OmniRemote that makes the Palm a great customizable learning remote. Too bad the screen is so small. I'm not too keen on getting my mail on it (there's both the ISP and the phone service to worry about), but I get way too much mail for a handheld. My sleeping buddy has one, my work colleague has one, and (being a web guy) I'm always surprised when I run into someone who doesn't have one. I'm sold on Palms, but if you have a chance to pick up any Palm OS device at that price, you'd be a fool not to grab it.
