I love my Sony C660. It isn't progressive, but it has just about everything else you would want. I have noticed little or no pauses in layer changes that others complain abot.
Gladiator was really bad... but I don't notice a layer change in any other movie with my C660.
Does anyone else?

The Panasonic RP91 seems to be the hot player right now... just came out this month but its hard to find in stock at a reasonable price. A few places have it up for $450-500, but as far as I know all are out of stock. Onecall seems to be the only place in stock but they are very overpriced on it.
Anyways, thats the one I'm probably getting.

You must get the JVC xv-d721bk, for the money it can't be beat. It's a progressive scan player, with buit in DD5.1 and DTS decoder. It also plays Audi-dvd's. It also has all the video and audio outputs you could ever need.

Why are you shopping for both regular and progressive? If you have a tv that takes a 480p signal, you want to shop for a progressive. If you don't, you want to shop for a normal one, unless you plan on upgrading your tv soon?
