Subwoofer placement?

I want to move my subwoofer about 15 feet from my HT equipment. Can I use heavy gauge speaker wire with RCA jacks connected to the subwoofer out on my DD receiver?

i wouldn't recommend the approach you suggest. you can purchase long runs of shielded interconnect at most HT/Hi-Fi stores.
