I recently got this model player are there any software upgrades? Where would I get this? How would you install it.

Don't know about your model, but firmware upgrades are typically done by the manufacturer or authorized service technician, and are usually issued as a fix for a specific problem (not as a general upgrade). If you are experiencing problems, call the manufacturer and get more info. It will probably mean shipping your player to them -- some players allow you to do it yourself with a CD, but in the majority of cases, it is not something you can do yourself.
