Are you playing a DVD that has other angles encoded on it?

Only a limited amount of movies make use of the angle button. I have 60 movies at home and none of them have different angles. You will find mostly porno movies make use of the different angles.

As everyone said, you're probably not watching a DVD with multiple angles The ones that use multiple angles usually only offer the multiple angles in the Special Features, not the movie itself. So, if you've got a multi angle DVD then check out the features and see if you can use it there.

Actually.... I was watching a DVD with different angles, and yet I still had no luck. I wouldn't have wasted anyones vaiuable time if I wasn't positive that the disc had different angles.

I have tried to get the multi-angle to work, but no luck. I've tried with several movies that I have. I know that Armageddon does because there is a camera icon that pops up at the very start of the movie.
Maybe I just don't understand how and what it's supposed to do. I have the Harman Kardon DVD50 and as some of you know, they print the instructions as if you already know how to operate their products.

Many BVHV/Disney discs use multiple angles to display the credits at the beginning of the movie (in different languages?), and this triggers the angle icon on Toshiba players. You can disable the angle icon in the setup menu if it bothers you. But hitting the angle button shouldn't do anything.

Was it a mainstream title? If so, what was it?
I've used this feature on my copy of Metallica's Cunning Stunts DVD. But it's only enabled on one or two songs, so you have to make sure that you're pressing the angle button at the point in the feature when it's available.
I've also used this in some titles that use multiple angles in the extra features. Perhaps, as mentioned above, you've confused the subtitle/angle icon problem with a title that only uses the angle feature in the extra features, or at the wrong point in the movie?
You also might want to check http://www.audioreview.com for your particular model of player. Others may have reported the same problem in their reviews of the player.

What model is your player? Don't use the feature much, but I have a Sony and have had no problems with angles on the King Crimson and Beastie Boys DVDs...

I have noticed with the multi-angle ones I have seen (concerts - mainly
) that it takes about half a second to switch tracks and it is not obvious as both tracks are edited often alternating between the same camera angles, so the chances are unless the scenes are long then you press the button for a different view and the scene switches about the same time as the edited scene change so you end up with the same camera angle.
I think multi-angle may end up as another fun addition that no-one uses. like the A-B repeat on CD players ! I bet 100 geeks reply saying they use it all time

Don't MallRats and The Matrix make use of the angle feature? Not an actual angle change, but you can watch the visuals of the commentary on MallRats and the white rabbit thing on Matrix. That's just from memory though...
