I want to purchase some of the R2 DVDs of television series that are comng out in the UK. (Buffy, etc.) Aside from a region free player, what would I need? Is there any problems with the video format differance?
I'm not interested in playing these on my compter, just my HT set-up.

You need a DVD player that:
1. Can play Region 2 discs.
2a. Can output the signal to your PAL (European) TV.
OR
2b. Can convert the PAL signal to NTSC for output to your NTSC (North American) TV.
I think that's right. A couple of DVD-ROM-based players can handle the PAL -> NTSC conversion, but most "name-brand" players will be either/or and not both.
