Does such a beast exist or is one coming? I'd really like to get a 300 disc changer to hold a good part of my 460+ disk collection but I'd also like to have the progressive capability.
Also, is anyone aware of a multi-disc player that will support more than 12 character titles? I've read the that Onkyo DVM-301, Pioneer F?-07 and the similiar Pioneer Elite all only handle 12 character for the DVD title. Due to the bad reviews I've seen I cannot even consider the Sony models.

Let me know if you hear of one.
I too would like to buy a megachanger but am waiting for a progressive model. Was looking at pioneer-07. I heard that kenwood was supposed to be coming out with a progressive megachanger but have heard nothing more about it. Besides if it looks anything like the rest of the kenwood stuff I don't think I'd be interested anyway, they're kinda butt ugly.

I'm patiently waiting for a large, progressive changer, too. I've only got 60-70 discs, but my player is in an equipment closet in another room. My wife is less tolerant of the current situation.
I've heard about the Kenwood unit. It's supposed to come a Faroudja chip for some image processing. My wallet cringes at the mere mention of the name. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will play both side of a disc (for flippers) without any physical user intervention. I know that a lot of digital projector folks want HD outputs or computer *VGA outputs to match their projectors resolution. Personally, I just want a clean 480p - I'm happy to let my projector do any scaling necessary. I find it amazing that companies can make progressive players and jukeboxes, but not jukeboxes with progressive outputs. It's supposed to be coming out this spring.
I hope that there will be other entries into this market to keep the costs down to a reasonable level. Sony's changer was barebones for $800 when it was the only one on the market. Now, with others joining the party, it's droped to about half that (I think...).

Totally off topic: I just gotta share a laugh I had last week. The owner of a local A/V shop bragged to me the other day that he was going to hook a $20k Faroudja scaler up to his Videkron LCD projector in his demo room. He was so psyched about the improvement in picture quality he expected. His projector, which he sells for about 10k, has a downright hideous looking image. I don't think any pre-processing is going to help it much. It's always going to look like cr@p - blue cast, screen door, awful skintones, big fat pixels. I've seen a DLP that sells for less than 3k that looks better without any external processing.

I was just about to post this same question!
I am in the dire need of a 300+ DVD player that is progressive. Absolutely. I am not, and will not ever buy a crappy interlaced DVD player again.
Please post information when you get it. I'll do the same.
As for flippers, the current Sony 300+ changer can play both sides of DVD (flippers) by just rotating the drum 180 degrees. A pretty simple solution.

I'm hoping for a 1000 disc changer that will play, DVD, DVD Audio, PS2, CD, SACD, VCD, MP3, CD-R and CD-R/W
make it a 2 piece unit with a display/control until and a seperate hideaway box that contains all the discs
Now that would kick ass

(super VCD? Never heard of it, just seen it in the specs of some DVD players)Oh, you also missed discrete On/Off IR codes. Very essential.

just to clarify a little more about the Kenwwod-they have a 400 disc changer that utilizes two Faroudja chips ( one for de-interlacing, the other for image enhancing). i think i also read that this will be using the same mpeg decoder found on the panasonics, which would mean no chroma bug.
its going to list for around $1500 (too rich for my blood)
a five disc changer will be avail for $1200.
as far as plain old progressives go,
the new philips are supposed to be using the Faroudja chip for de-interlacing, but not the second chip for enhancement, and i don't know what decoder they will have.

ckolchak:
I dont know anything about the Farouja chips except that they are expensive, so I'll be doing some research on them shortly. But do you think that you can daisy chain two Kenoods via component?
