I've had a DVD Player for over 2-3 years now. I've had a Sony Wega TV for about 4-6 months now. I also have a Sony mini system that plays surround sound and all the latest.

My question is this? Are monster cables for s-video, components or any other do da hickey miggier worth it. The best buy salesman stated to me that I'm doing my system a disservice due to the fact that the cables that I am using came with the products. He highly urged me to buy the $69.99 monster comonnents cables. Any help on educating me on this subject matter would be grately appreciated. For this subject matter is very unfamiliar to me. thanks

Steve

Find a happy medium.

While I will agree that the wires that come packaged with
components are not that great and an upgrade will help
you don't need monster cables. Go to http://www.avconnect.com
They carry acoustic research cables. They are very nice
quality and cost less than half of the comparable monster
cables. Good luck.

Monster's entry line (the ones at Best Buy and the like) are really not worth the price premium the name carries with them. Their higher lines, available through audio specialty shops, are pretty nice. Personally, I use MIT cables for my speakers and Audioquest for interconnects, and do notice a significant improvement over the entry level Monsters. It all depends on what you want to pay for your cables. The Acoustic Research cables are a decent combination of improved performance and low price. I'd look into those.
